The long story

I'm Funke — a software engineer based in the UK. I started writing code because I wanted to make small things that made daily life a little kinder, and I haven't really stopped since.

My GitHub is a quiet timeline of that curiosity: a Java pattern-matching calendar that turned plain English into appointments, an iOS affirmation card, a climate-tech hackathon on what banks could do for the planet, a Rust playground, a TDD Game of Life, and most recently Word of Truth.

I care about the craft. Tests that read like sentences. Designs that breathe. Commits with intent. I think the best software feels like a thoughtful friend — present when you need it, invisible when you don't.

Outside of code, I'm into reflective writing, slow mornings, and the kind of side projects you build for an audience of one.
